Estimate of Costs Based on 1 psychotherapy session per week for a fee of $100 per visit, your estimated charge would be:
$400 for 4 sessions (weekly for 1 month)
$800 for 8 sessions (weekly for 2 months)
$1,200 for 12 sessions (weekly for 3 months)
$2,400 for 24 sessions (weekly for 6 months)
$5,200 for 52 sessions (weekly for one year)
If you plan on following a schedule not outlined above, you can project your costs by multiplying the number of sessions you plan on attending by $100. You can terminate therapy at anytime.

According to the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, the average number of sessions is 12 sessions (link).
According to the American Psychological Association (link) 15 to 20 sessions are required for 50 percent of patients to recover as indicated by self-reported symptom measures.
